Preparing the Sacred Ashes
Before you can cultivate the Flower of Bones, you must gather Old Bones from the Vitalys Mines and combine them with Purified Night Shards. Taking these items to Scar will lead you to the volcanic geyser inside his cave, where the bones are transformed into ashes. Once you have obtained the ashes, you are ready to begin the planting process on the Sunlit Plateau.
Planting and Watering the Flower of Bones
To start growing the plant, select any open soil patch located within the Sunlit Plateau biome and plant the ashes. Immediately after planting, use your royal watering can to hydrate the newly buried ashes. Unlike standard crops that require hours to mature, the Flower of Bones sprouts quickly but requires periodic watering to ensure continuous growth.
Growth Duration and Maintenance
Many players wonder how long it takes for the magical sprout to fully mature after planting. In general, caring for the plant takes around five to ten minutes, requiring about two to three separate waterings. It is best to stay near the Sunlit Plateau during this brief period so you can re-water the plant as soon as the soil turns dry.
Harvesting and Crafting Rewards
Once the plant has fully bloomed, harvest the Flower of Bones to collect the required quest ingredient. You can then head over to any crafting station to construct the Roaring Shovel Head by combining the blossom with Purified Night Shards. This upgraded shovel attachment allows you to clear away the large wildebeest bones blocking the bridge, completing Scar's quest and restoring full access to the Sunlit Plateau.
